  • What is an FAQ section?
    An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions customers have about our business or company policy. See below for the most asked questions we get.
  • Why choose us?
    Clean Energy Solutions is part of a fully registered and legal company (Peter Blaidd SL - B54965884). This means we have insurance, security policies, warranties, and other legal obligations a company must fulfill. All our work is done to the legal requirements, with the necessary permits and licenses, and signed off by a qualified electrician and/or engineer when necessary. All our employees are on full contract and training. But most importantly, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standard of work with the best quality products available.
  • How long does installation take?
    Installing your system normally takes between 1 and 3 days. The start time is roughly 6 weeks from order confirmation. This is the average time it takes to process the necessary licenses at the government bodies.
  • What region do you cover?
    We cover the region in an estimated 60-minute drive radius of Urb. La Marina (San Fulgencio) This is to ensure we can give the necessary service, especially post-installation.
  • How much money can I save?
    On average most customers save around 70% on their electric bills.
  • Are there any grants available?
    Yes. There are multiple grants available. Local grants from your town hall with up to 90% of the ICIO (tax on installations and building work). Community grants from the Valencian government are also available, this is straight from the European funds. These are roughly 50%. We apply for both of these. Also up to 50% on your IBI (property tax) & rebates on your income tax (IRPF) You must ask your financial manager to help you with these. Please contact us for more information.
  • As a non-resident, am I qualified for Solar grants here in Spain?
    As a non-resident, you are qualified for grants and subsidies related to houses (IBI reduction and Spanish Solar grants), but you are not qualified for tax credits, which are only available for resident citizens.
  • What about the “Sun Tax”?
    The infamous “Sun Tax” actually did not affect most homeowners, as it was only for systems of 10KW or over (most homes are way below this threshold). Either way, this law was abolished with the “Real Decreto 244/2019“. Furthermore, you can now sell your excess power back to the grid. (this will compensate on your energy bill).
  • How do I know what system/product is right for me?
    The easiest way is to talk with our specialists. You will be asked to provide some information such as energy consumption, available space, and more. With this information, our professionals can calculate what system would suit your needs. A good guide is to have 80%-120% of your expected consumption covered.
  • How do you calculate my system size?
    Using our computer system we can calculate the amount of power needed, taking into account your location and the estimated consumption from the info you provide us.
  • How do I find out my consumption?
    To find out your current electricity consumption, you can check your latest electric bill. This will have a graph indicating your usage over a set period (often 12 months).
  • How can I get an estimate if I don't have an electric bill?
    In the case of a newly built or a recently bought property, we can still give you a quote. You will need to provide us with the appliances and machines you are planning to have in your home, and we will estimate the system requirements. We estimate the system requirements based on the information you provide about the machines and equipment to be used.
  • Are there any costs involved in requesting a quote?
    No. Requesting your quote is completely FREE. We start with an initial estimate with details provided by the customer. If this estimate is satisfactory, one of our professionals will visit your property to go over details and send you a finalized quote.
  • Do I need any permits?
    To install solar panels a building license must be applied for. This is a service we provide. The price of this is set by the Town hall. Normally it's a fixed quote + a percentage of the installation costs. We cannot get a license if the house is not "legal".
  • Will my insurance cover my installation?
    You must contact them directly as this is different per company.
  • What about aesthetics? Will the installation look good on my house?
    We take extra care with all our installations to ensure the quality and finish are top-notch. We try to integrate the panels to your property to the best of our possibilities (for example keeping the angle similar on a sloped roof), all wires go into ducts, etc.
  • Can I check my generated, consumed & stored energy?
    Yes, most systems have either a screen or an application for your smart device.
  • What is the life span of an installation?
    With the correct maintenance, systems should function correctly for 25 years.
  • How long does it take to earn back my investment?
    This varies depending on the initial investment and how accurate the consumption estimation is, however on average it takes about 4 years.
  • Will my system give me power when it's cloudy or raining?
    Yes, but it is much less effective and doesn't produce as near as much energy as when it's sunny. If you add storage batteries to your system, this would allow you to keep your extra energy, and use this in the evenings and on gloomy days.
  • Does the system need maintenance?
    Yes, every machine needs maintenance. When your installation is finished, you get a folder in which we provide a maintenance schedule. There are periodical visual inspections and cleaning, which the customer can do. There are also deeper, yearly checks. We recommend an electrical specialist does these. You will get a maintenance schedule when your installation has been completed.
  • What's your service after the installation?
    We will repair or replace any faulty machines in your system. This includes warranty and non-warranty issues. We offer a maintenance/monitoring contract with extended support including monitoring production values, App support, annual maintenance of the system (as specified in the maintenance schedule), and more. Please ask your sales representative for more information.
  • What warranties do you offer?
    As a certified installation company, we give a full 3-year guarantee on the whole installation. Apart from our company's warranty, the manufacturers we work with are giving a 10 years warranty for the electric devices (Inverter and Batteries) and a 25-year warranty on the solar panel itself. This means they guarantee an 80% efficiency of the solar panels after 25 years.
  • What happens to the excess energy I don't use?
    Any unused/excess energy would normally be lost. However, you have 2 options to benefit from the most amount of energy: Storage batteries: You can purchase lithium batteries, allowing you to store excess energy and use it at a later time, whenever you need it. Sell excess: You can sell the excess energy you produce back to the grid. Your electric company will then compensate this on your bill. It's recommended to check with your Power supplier first, as not all grids allow this. It is possible to combine both options. First, fill your batteries, and any extra goes to the grid.
  • What's the difference between Photovoltaic and thermal solar?
    Photovoltaic systems produce electricity, whilst thermal is used to heat liquids and provide hot water or heating.
  • What are the components of a PV solar system?
    There are solar panels, an inverter, and the structure it is mounted on. As an option, you can add battery storage. On most systems there is an App to monitor the system
  • Are there any technical requirements my house needs?
    Normally no. The building must be structurally sound (to hold the weight of the workers and the panels), in legal condition, and have enough hours of sunlight, without shadows, available.
